Pedicle Rod System

Pedicle Screws

The Pedicle Screw is designed to mimic a standard locking screw thread pattern, has a relatively large core diameter, to provide a greater area of force, which helps resistance to cyclic loading and failure.

The rod is introduced to the head of the screw; it is compressed by a separate threaded implant called a ‘set screw’ or ‘cap’. This compression onto the surface of the rod, onto the integrated washer and finally onto the head of the screw provides rigidity to the fixation.
